Seriously, since the Berlin Wall came down, I wonder how much things have really changed? If you have read any news lately, you might have come across a story about a former Russian spy, a journalist, a former prime minister, and a few others that have seemingly been “eliminated” for opposing and questioning their government. Some of these stories read as if something from a James Bond novel. It is a sobering thing to read these stories and realize that this could possibly happen in the year 2006. We might think this world has changed, but some things remain the same.
And, then again, in other ways, the world HAS changed . . . Technology and modernization have moved us at light speed in the areas of convenience and knowledge. Political lines HAVE redrawn on this globe.
Maybe the way to say it is: Some things change, some do not. One thing that NEVER changes is mankind’s need for a Savior. Many fight this need: I was reading some of the story of Madalyn Murray O’Hair today, and sadly, some believe the way she does: People forge their own destiny and God is not even real. She will see, some day!
In the mean time, we need to realize what a friend we have in Him and be unashamed to tell others. This world HAS changed, but our need for Jesus remains the same!
