Some people will do anything to win

I watched a co-ed church softball game last night and heard some interesting observations: A church in town, notorious for their willingness to win at all costs in any sport, was playing and had a really good team. The problem, said a player from another church, was these were a bunch of college softball and baseball players they recruited just for the tournament. In fact, he said several of their players had NEVER BEEN OUT before last night! Of course, they waxed our team (of people that actually ATTEND Ebenezer) and went on the championship game. Yes this is against the rules: But rules don’t matter to some people.

This kind of behavior makes it crummy for those who play church softball and play by the rules. I could have called Frank Reid or Curtis Hudson and fielded a team to win . . . But, our guys and girls played by the rules and at least their class and dignity is still in tact.

I guess in this world, some people really will do anything to win. You have to ask yourself: IS winning everything? Am I willing to compromise my principles to win?
