Who are we to judge?

30 Aug

Michael Vick . . . Most people who have followed news lately know that he pled guilty to federal charges concerning dogfighting and animal cruelty. One of the biggest questions in sports is “What will the NFL do with him once he has served his time?”

In his press conference after the plea deal, he stated that he found Jesus Christ and placed his faith in Him. The press is having a field day with this statement. Many say this is too convenient, he is banking to this to win sympathy with the public. Could be. But, the bottom line is, we don’t really know . . .

None of us are without sin. None of us are QUALIFIED to judge him or anyone else. It is ridiculous for us or the press to even ask the question, “Is this real?” That is an answer only known by Vick and God Himself. Yeah, we all know what this looks like. Maybe folks have a reason to be suspicious. Maybe Vick will have to prove himself in the days to come.

Ultimately, Michael Vick WILL have to pay some type of price for his behavior. And America will forget. And he probably will play football again.

And he will stand before God one say, just as you will and as I will. And just as we will, he will answer for his life.
