Yes, the pergola that Diana, Krissy, Drew and I have been building with my mom and dad is FINALLY standing. This little puppy is the source of several good stories (that I will not mention right now). This is actually the SECOND time it has been put up, and I REALLY don’t want to talk about the first time. But, here it is . . . 10’x30′ of HEAVY treated lumber, arranged in such a way that we can continue mom’s plans to create a shaded area for them to be able to enjoy the outdoors and grill.
My basketball goal used to hang over that garage door. Behind the pergola is about a 10′ drop off into the back yard. That is one of the reasons I was so good at shooting from the left side of the court — I used to shoot over the
re all the time so I would be there if the rebound came back that way. Cause, if it did and I was not there, I was running to keep it from rolling in the creek or into the wild.
We are going to put a hand rail around it and have a couple of ideas for more shade on the left side. And, all in all, it really was fun to build.
