(After the seedy thug shows Friday and Gannon a bull’s ear and brags about his vast knowledge of bullfighting and Joe Friday is breaking him down like he always does):
THUG: And, your friend should be glad I got him thrown off the force. I did him a favor.
FRIDAY: Hows that?
THUG: After all, who would ever want to be a cop?
FRIDAY: Who would ever want a bull’s ear?
