Father’s Day. 2010. Wow.
We’ve got some great dads here at Ebenezer. Giants of faith and leaders of families who live it just the way God wants them to. Who make no bones about the fact they are ready to lay down their lives, if need be, for their families.
I guess we might catch grief over this, but we did not ask the dads to stand up during the worship service. We always do that for the moms, but seldom ever do that for the dads. And I am SURE someone will fuss. But I have never been one to make worship about US and about OUR RECOGNITION. Isn’t it supposed to be all about JESUS??
Anyway, Happy Father’s Dad to all dads out there!! I’ve already called my Dad. He is still in the Cottages Rehab in Greer and making progress. Hopefully he will be home in a week or so. Hope all of you and your families have a great day!!!
I totally agree with you David. I know there are a handful of men that the leader of our home walks in the footsteps of and I’m so thankful that those Dad’s/Husbands are there to set the example. Besides, if they wanted to stand and be recognized, there were a few empty spots with the choir. 🙂
All men should understand that you are never too old to have someone look up to you. I count my blessings every day for the husband and father under our roof and thankful that he laid his pride to the side and has truly allowed God to work in his life and make him the man he is today.
I enjoy the subtle ways he finds to impact those around him at work or with friends, by using what he has learned from you and other men at EBC and how it continues to be a blessing to our family.
Thanks for a meaningful message yesterday and for the great leadership you provide to EBC and ALL of our families.
